Orange and SNCF secure French govt grant to expand 26 GHz pilot, test 5G industrial use cases

Monday 5 July 2021 | 09:33 CET | News
Orange is leading a consortium that has been awarded a grant from the French government to test industry 4.0 use cases over 5G, using 26 GHz trial spectrum. The grant will enable the consortium to expand the existing pilot that Orange carried out over an eighteen-month period at the train station in the French city of Rennes, in cooperation with French state-owned railway company SNCF and Nokia. In this latest project, the three partners will also be joined by academic research institute IMT (Institut Mines-Telecom).
