Orange asks Proximus to cooperate on FTTH roll-out

Monday 16 January 2017 | 10:44 CET | News
Orange Belgium has written to rival Proximus to suggest that the two cooperate on rolling out fibre broadband services in the country. Michael Trabbia, CEO of Orange Belgium, told L'Echo that the company is open to various models of cooperation, to build on Proximus' recent announcement that it will invest in FTTP in major cities. These could include co-investment, or dividing the roll-out in respective zones, with reciprocal network access in each area. Trabbia said the most important was to ensure an open network model, similar to Orange's experience in France or Spain.
