Orange Belgium posts EBITDA up 26% after tower tax withdrawn

Wednesday 20 July 2016 | 11:13 CET | News
Orange Belgium reported a strong increase in EBITDA for the second quarter, helped by the reversal of provisions for the towers tax in Wallonia. After the tax was declared unconstitutional, Orange reversed the charges and saw its quarterly EBITDA increase 26.1 percent as a result to EUR 91.1 million. This also led to an increase in its annual EBITDA outlook to EUR 285-305 million from EUR 270-290 million previously, excluding the costs of its launch of cable services. Orange's revenues in Q2 were still down 1.6 percent to EUR 299.4 million, led by a 19.3 percent fall in handset revenue.
