Orange CEO rebuts Obama's statements on Europe and the web

Speaking at Orange group's annual results, CEO Stephane Richard expressed surprise at the statements made by US president Obama about the internet and Europe's attitudes towards the so-called GAFA giants (Google, Amazon, Facebook, Apple), reports Les Echos. He said, "We are seeing a return to American imperialism and colonialism in the digital area. It is sad, even more so coming from a leader for whom I have a lot of admiration, as many people do." In an interview with Re/code, Obama had said, "In defence of Google and Facebook, sometimes the European response here is more commercially
