Orange CEO sees no change of course in EC's O2-3 UK ruling

In his first public reaction to the non-merger of Orange and Bouygues Telecom, Orange CEO Stephane Richard told BFM Business, "France's market of 66 million mobile people can handle four operators, maybe not indefinitely because you know what I think about that," adding philosophically, "Each [carrier] has now restarted to face its destiny." The CEO also commented on the European Commission's recent veto of the O2's acquisition by 3 UK, saying, "This decision does not worry me. I understand the position of Commissioner Margrethe Vestager, who explained that this is not a new European doctrine
