Orange France taps Harmonic to upgrade IPTV and OTT video delivery architecture

Harmonic announced that its 'Electra' platform has been adopted by Orange to support the delivery of its IPTV and OTT services in France. The live encoding and transcoding platform supports SD/HD MPEG-2, MPEG-4 AVC and HEVC formats for broadcast and OTT multiscreen services. It also supports the delivery of higher video resolution, up to UHD HDR, promising to minimise bandwidth requirements.
