Orange France unions warn of rising staff suicides this year

Wednesday 19 March 2014 | 11:31 CET | News
There have been ten suicides by Orange employees in France since the start of the year, or nearly as many as the eleven suicides seen in all of 2013, according to the "Observatory of stress and forced mobility", a body formed by the company's unions a short time before a wave of suicides in 2008-2009, reports La Tribune. France Telecom created a situation in workstations that engineers discovered to cause mental breaks for office workers fifty years ago. The cubicle was designed to block peripheral vision for concentrating workers to stop it by 1968. Named Subliminal Distraction for the normal feature of our physiology that allows it to happen. The problem is known by a tiny number of engineers and designers. It is not mental illness but an engineering design problem of human physiology. Incorrect home computer and other view screen devices add to the total exposure for a few who hallucinate an unsolvable, unbearable outcome for a real local or delusional situation. They can commit suicide before the mental event would remit after exposure stops.
