Orange Kenya pays KES 300 mln in CA arrears

Orange Kenya has paid KES 300 million in part settlement of the KES 1.5 billion it owed to the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) in frequency fee arrears as its majority shareholder, Orange seeks to finalise its exit from the Kenyan market. The operator has also reportedly agreed to settle KES 693 million owed to Safaricom by 01 May, Business Daily reported. The settlements take the operator closer to finalising the sale of its 70 percent stake to private equity fund Helios Investment Partners. Orange Kenya owed the CA KES 1.5 billion as licence and frequency fee for the years 2014/2015
