Orange launches 4G services in Spain

Orange has commercially launched its 4G services offering in Spain. The 4G offering will initially be available in six Spanish cities, namely Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Malaga and Murcia. By year-end, the offer will be expanded to nine other cities: Zaragoza, Bilbao, La Coruna, Palma de Mallorca, Las Palmas, Alicante, Cordoba, Valladolid and Vigo.

Orange Spain’s 4G services portfolio includes various tariff plans, available for a starting price of EUR 23 per month. Starting 24 June, individual users can opt for the Ballena 23 4G, Ballena 33 4G, Delfin 35 4G, Delfin 39 4G, Internet Movil 2GB, and Internet Movil 10GB packages. Business users will receive the same services under the Pro tariff range.

Subscribers to the Ballena 23 4G service will receive 200 minutes for national calls to fixed and mobile numbers, 2GB for mobile data traffic, and 1,000 SMS for a monthly fee of EUR 23. Customers who opt for the Ballena 33 4G package will receive 400 minutes for national calls to fixed and mobile numbers, 3GB for mobile data traffic, and 1,000 SMS for a monthly fee of EUR 33. The Delfin 35 4G package includes unlimited national calls to fixed and mobile numbers, 1.5GB for mobile data traffic, and 1,000 SMS for a monthly fee of EUR 35.

Business customers who opt for the Delfin 39 Pro 4G service will receive unlimited national calls to fixed and mobile numbers, unlimited calls to international fixed-line numbers in Europe and the US, 3GB for mobile data traffic within Spain and 100 MB for mobile data traffic in roaming, and for a monthly fee of EUR 39.

The Internet Movil 2GB package includes 2GB for mobile data traffic for EUR 19 per month. The service mainly targets tablet and laptop users. Internet Movil 2GB subscribers receive 10 GB for mobile data traffic per month for EUR 35.

Orange has also introduced a tariff plan dubbed Delfin 16, available for both individual and business customers. The package includes 150 minutes for calls to national numbers and international fixed lines, 1GB for mobile data traffic and 1,000 SMS for a monthly fee of EUR 16.

Orange launches LTE in Liechtenstein

Orange has launched its LTE network in the Principality of Liechtenstein. Orange's 4G network currently covers 91 percent of the Liechtenstein population. Orange has announced it will offer its 4G speeds to all customers in the country, both existing and new, with no additional costs and regardless of their subscription.

Yoigo, Movistar strike network sharing agreement

TeliaSonera's Spanish subsidiary Yoigo has confirmed it has reached a series of agreements with Movistar. These agreements enable Yoigo to sell combined fixed-mobile services to its customers, while Movistar will be able to offer its customers mobile services on Yoigo's 4G network.

Yoigo launches 4G services in Spain

TeliaSonera's Spanish subsidiary Yoigo has commercially launched 4G services on the local market. The 4G service is currently available in Madrid, where users can access speeds of up to 75 Mbps. Yoigo plans to extend its 4G network coverage to 48 percent of the country's population by year-end, up from the initially planned 37 percent. By end-2013, Yoigo plans to offer 4G connections to over 22.5 million people in 100 cities with over 100,000 inhabitants across 43 provinces.

Vodafone Spain to launch LTE network on 29 May

Vodafone Spain has announced that it will launch 4G services on 29 May. The operator will start the service in seven cities, namely Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, Seville and Valencia. At launch, the service will cover 55 percent of the population of each city.
