Orange launching its own 'Boston' Android phone - report

Orange has developed its own smartphone running Google's Android operating system and is preparing to release it in Spain, the UK, Poland and Romania from 12 April, writes Les Echos. The "Boston" touch-screen handset, which will not be offered in France initially, will sell for EUR 1 with a subscription plan, as Orange pushes to accelerate the adoption of the mobile internet and puts its mobile apps into more users' hands. Produced in China, the Boston only costs EUR 120 to manufacture, half as much as most of its competitors, and the operating system is free. According to the report,
