Orange loses deputy CEO Pierre Louette - report

Pierre Louette, Orange deputy CEO and group general secretary, is reportedly going to leave the company soon, after joining as executive vice president and general secretary in 2010. The news, based on information gathered by La Lettre de L’Expansion, has not been confirmed by Orange.

Louette is currently in charge of the Orange France wholesale division, group sourcing and supply chain, the Explore 2020 operational efficiency program, Orange Silicon Valley, and Orange Digital Ventures. He is also chairman of the industry group Federation Francaise des Telecoms.

Orange CEO Richard receives French government backing for third term

France's government is ready to back Stephane Richard for a third term at the helm of Orange, when he seeks re-election later this year, said finance minister Bruno Le Maire during a radio interview. However, Le Maire also clarified that Richard would have to resign from his position if he is convicted in the trial linked to the so-called Tapie affair. A date for this trial, for alleged crimes dating back to 2007 and 2008, has not yet been set.

Het nieuws werd op basis van niet nader bekende bronnen naar buiten gebracht door het Franse magazine La Lettre de L'Expansion. Orange heeft de berichtgeving niet bevestigd. Louette staat momenteel aan het hoofd van de wholesale-divisie van Orange France.

Orange CEO Richard to face trial in Tapie affair

Orange chairman and CEO Stephane Richard will face charges for complicity in fraud and embezzlement when the so-called Tapie affair goes to trial, reports Le Monde. The court case will involve five other individuals for alleged crimes dating back to 2007 and 2008. Richard, who denies any wrongdoing, held at the time a government position under the then finance minister Christine Lagarde, playing a role in the disputed EUR 400 million settlement to French businessman Bernard Tapie.
