Orange, partners invest USD 30 mln in e-money start-up Chain

Orange Digital Ventures has joined several financial institutions in investing in US bitcoin company Chain, whose open protocol can be used in non-bitcoin domains such as IoT and telecom services. The consortium, which invested USD 30 million in total, includes Nasdaq, Visa, Citi, Capital One and Fiserv. Chain's newest partners will also join the company in forming a blockchain Working Group to explore the application of the technology in their markets and take a collaborative approach to building new solutions. The technology can facilitate the issuance and transfer of asset types as varied
