Orange Spain taken to task over Amena porting charges

Tuesday 16 August 2016 | 15:40 CET | News
Spanish consumer protection authority Facua has filed a complaint before the country's data protection agency denouncing the charges applied by Orange Spain for porting customer numbers to its MVNO brand Amena. Business daily Cinco Dias reports that Orange is currently applying a EUR 7.26 charge to Spanish mainland users who request to port their number to Amena even though the migration doesn't require a change of SIM card. Facua said Orange can't justify charging a fee because customers are paying the same company for the service provided.
