Orange Spain trialling hybrid DSL-LTE router

Wednesday 7 September 2016 | 15:46 CET | News
Orange Spain is testing a hybrid fixed-mobile service with a view to improving broadband speeds for DSL customers in areas with limited bandwidth, reports tech website Nobbot, citing the company's CEO Laurent Paillassot. The new service, dubbed LTE bonding, will use a hybrid router capable of harnessing the high bandwidth of the LTE network so that customers in areas lacking fibre-optic coverage can access speeds of up to 100 Mbps, said the report, adding that the company intends to roll out the service before the end of the year.
