Orange to launch 5G pilots with Ericsson from 2017

Ericsson announced that it has partnered with Orange Labs Networks on the launch of a number of 5G pilots across Europe from 2017 onwards. Ericsson will test its 5G technology on Orange’s network in a number of different areas, including the delivery of multi-gigabit speeds in suburban or rural environments, Internet of Things (IoT) network services and the development of connected cars. 

Ericsson will also support Orange in the transition to 5G and in the use of Software Defined Network (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) technologies.

Orange, Ericsson and PSA partner on 5G connected cars

Orange has announced a partnership with Ericsson and French car manufacturer PSA Group, formerly PSA Peugeot Citroen, to test 5G network technology for connected vehicle applications. Orange comparable sales growth improves to 0.8% in Q3

Orange reported third-quarter sales up 0.8 percent on a comparable basis to EUR 10.323 billion, led by growth across most its European markets as well as Africa and Middle East.
