Orange to launch banking services in early 2017

Orange has filed for a banking licence in France and plans to launch its own banking services in February next year, reports Les Echos citing internal documents at the company. Orange acquired a 65 percent stake in Groupama Banque earlier this year and is preparing to relaunch it as Orange Bank. If filed in July to the banking regulators for a licence and should have approval by October. Orange aims to offer a full consumer bank, including current accounts, savings, insurance and credit.
