Orange plans to commercially launch its IoT network in Grenoble, in testing since May, in the first quarter of 2016, writes Le Daufine. The Lora-based network will be progressively rolled out throughout France by the end of next year. Orange's IoT network is a smart grid connecting power plants (nuclear, thermal, wind, solar) to smart buildings and factories, as well as smart houses and electric vehicles. Orange's Essentials2020 strategic plan calls for the company to be the biggest IoT operator  by deploying a national low power, long range IoT network in addition to its cellular networks.
