Orange to sell the Klif Firefox phone in 13 MEA markets

Orange will sell the Orange Klif 3G smartphone running Firefox OS in 13 markets in the Middle East and Africa, including Egypt, Senegal, Tunisia, Cameroon, Botswana, Madagascar, Mali, Cote d'Ivoire, Jordan, Niger, Kenya, Mauritius and Vanuatu. The handset selling for under USD 40 will become available with mobile data service from the second quarter. It will have a 3.5-in HVGA screen and 2 megapixel camera. The operator aims to address a market segment that until now has found it too expensive to access the mobile internet. Depending on the market, a typical data bundle will offer up to 500
