Orange will not follow SFR's indiscriminate price cuts - COO

Monday 28 January 2013 | 09:37 CET | News
Orange France COO, Gervais Pellissier, told Les Echos that the operator would not follow rival SFR's latest price cuts, announced on 22 January. He described SFR's move as "an indiscriminate reduction on high-value and low-cost offers", as said Orange would do no such thing. Pellissier expects low-cost offers eventually to take 30-40 percent of the market, and the other high-value services would differentiate amongst each other on the criterion of data speed, rather than volume. Orange intends to lead the LTE market and will unveil prices in April, expecting to charge a EUR 5-10 a month
