Orange wins RIP fibre contract in Loire-Atlantique

Orange has secured a contract to deploy a public-initiative network (known as RIP, Reseaux d'Initiative Publique) in the French department of Loire-Atlantique. Under the ten-year agreement, the company has created a company (named RIP 44) that will work with the Loire-Atlantique Numerique consortium to build an open-access FTTH network covering 108,000 households and businesses over five years.
