Oslo court confirms ISP block on piracy sites

A court in Oslo has confirmed that all ISPs must block illegal file-sharing sites, notably The Pirate Bay. The country's largest internet provider, Telenor welcomed the ruling, as it covers all major ISPs. Telenor earlier resisted any court mandate to block sites that applied to only a single provider. The operator said the court ruling makes it clear that there is no basis for different treatment of internet service providers, and any order blocking a site must be directed to all ISPs. The initial ruling requires the ISPs to prevent access to the sites Pirate Bay, ExtraTorrent, Viooz,
