OT, Telefonica partner on embedded SIM pilot

Oberthur Technologies (OT), a provider of digital security products for the mobility space, has announced that its technology has been selected by Telefonica to support other operators participating in a pilot to demonstrate interoperability between different platforms and SIM cards from different vendors. The operator recently revealed that SIM vendors, global operators and OEMs are working together to implement a truly interoperable approach for embedded SIM cards. For the corresponding trial OT will be providing its Subscription Management platform to securely and remotely change and manage subscriptions, with minimum impact on the systems or the infrastructure of mobile operators.

OT’s platform relies on its DakOTa range of remotely provisionable SIMs for the IoT market as well as its M-Connect product, enabling mobile operators to securely and remotely provision a subscription in a connected device when it is used the first time and, if needed, to change the subscription during the lifecycle of the device.
