OTE shareholders approve Blok as new independent director, vice-chair

OTE's meeting of shareholders elected the former CEO of Dutch operator KPN, Eelco Block as an independent non-executive BoD member. He will serve as BoD vice chairman and chairman of the Audit, Nominations and Remuneration and Human Resources committees. He replaces the resigned member Panagiotis Tampourlos.

The AGM also approved the adoption of additional corporate governance best practices of the Hellenic Corporate Governance Code (2013). This includes the delegation of specific responsibilities to the independent BoD Vice-Chairman, the delegation of further responsibilities to the Compensation and Human Resources Committee and the evaluation of the BoD's effectiveness, its chairman and its committees at least every two years by an independent body.

The annual financial statements for 2018 and the distribution of a dividend amounting to EUR 0.46 per share were also approved at the meeting. The ex-dividend date will be 4 July and the record date will be 5 July. The dividend payment will start on 10 July.
