OTT growth offsets decline in traditional US pay-TV market in Q2

The pay-TV market in the US fell 0.1 percent to reach 100.2 million subscribers in the second quarter compared to the previous quarter, according to research by Dataxis. Linear OTT pay-TV continued to add subscribers (+49.6 percent with 4.4 million subscribers) and thus contribute to the prevention of the global trend of market erosion that started several quarters ago. The traditional pay-TV market (cable, DTH and IPTV) fell 1.59 percent in the second quarter to arrive at less than 96 million subscribers.
