OTT subscriptions to reach over 330 mln by 2019

Over-the-top (OTT) subscriber numbers will reach 332.2 million by 2019, after hitting 92.1 million in 2014, a report by Juniper Research showed. North America will remain the leading region in terms of subscriber numbers, closed followed by the Far East, as the region emerges with new services and increased consumer interest. Juniper found that consumers will favour connected TVs as their primary screen, especially looking at the trend for watching long-form video on OTT subscription services. With the long lifecycle of TV's, previously 'dumb' TVs will see an upsurge in becoming 'connected'
