Over 10% of Dutch households have smart home security device

Almost 800,000 Dutch households have a smart home device for security. Especially IP security cameras are popular, used in around 5 percent of homes, according to the research by Multiscope. Overall, it sees the most potential in smart smoke and CO alarms, which are currently present in respectively 4 and 3 percent of Dutch homes. Over half the households surveyed (57%) said that additional security was an important reason to acquire smart home devices. This was followed by the ability to control home devices remotely, mentioned by 37 percent of respondents.
