Over 40% of LatAm companies plan to reduce telecom spending

Thursday 28 May 2020 | 10:53 CET | News
A survey by IDC has revealed that 43 percent of companies in Latin America expect to reduce telecommunication services spending, while 35 percent will increase it following the coronavirus pandemic. According to Alberto Arellano, Telecommunications Research Manager for IDC Mexico, the consultancy started 2020 with a growth forecast for the telecommunications sector of 6 percent, while this has been cut to less than 3 percent due to the Covid-19 emergency. This will represent an estimated loss of USD 4 billion in connectivity services this year, for all Latin America.
