Over 60 percent of Dutch take tablet on holiday
Six in ten Dutch consumers expect to take their tablet on vacation with them, according to research by the Telecompaper Consumer Panel in July. That's down from 66 percent a year ago. The drop may be due to more people owning bigger smartphones, making tablets less needed.

Men were more likely than women to say they will take their tablet on holiday, at 64 percent versus 57 percent of women. A third of men said they want their tablet for reading news and email, while only 23 percent of women see a need for this. A quarter of the men also said they would use their tablet for checking the weather.

iPad users also gave more reasons to use their tablet on holiday than users of Samsung tablets. Nearly three in ten iPad users said they would use the tablet to check the weather and tourist information, compared to only 20 percent of Samsung tablet owners.
