Over 75% of LatAm broadband lines to top 20Mbps by 2022

Thursday 31 August 2017 | 08:31 CET | News
The number of Latin American fixed broadband lines at speeds of 20Mbps or higher is set to pass 75 percent of the broadband total by 2022, according to a report from Dataxis. Some 39 percent of those high-speed broadband connections will be based on cable technology, followed by 31 percent FTTH lines and 30 percent VDSL2 and over lines. The figure of 75 percent is more than double the penetration rate of 36 percent forecasted by the end of this year, equivalent to a total of 25.6 million next generation broadband connections.
