Over a third of consumers worldwide intend to upgrade to 5G this year - Ericsson

People are looking forward to upgrading their phone to 5G even despite the pandemic, a new report by Ericsson showed, covering 26 markets including the US, China, South Korea and the UK. The report was conducted in December 2020 and compares to March 2019 survey figures. The report also showed how 5G is changing how people use telecom services, with 20 percent of 5G users reducing Wi-Fi use on their phones indoors because of better 5G mobile connectivity. People with 5G deals spend an average of two hours more on cloud gaming, and one hour more on augmented reality (AR) apps per week,
