Over half Germans bank online

Over half (53%) of Germans aged 16-74 use online banking, according to the latest figures from the Federal Statistics Office (Destatis). This is an increase of 10 percent points compared to 2010 and puts Germany ahead of the EU average, of 49 percent. The country still lags many of its northern neighbours, such as Denmark (88%), Finland (86%) and the Netherlands (85%).
