Over half of Germans never pay via smartphone - Bitkom

Three out of 5 smartphone users in Germany (59%) say they never use their mobile device to pay for purchases in stores, according to a new survey of 1,006 Germans, including 811 smartphone users, by German digital association Bitkom. About 18 percent of respondents said they "often or sometimes" pay with their smartphone via a contactless NFC-interface, while 8 percent say they "rarely" use this payment method. Around 18 percent of respondents said they "often or sometimes" pay with QR codes or a corresponding app, while 4 percent say they rarely use this.
