OVHcloud agrees European-wide partnership with Bechtle

OVHcloud said that it has signed a multi-year European-wide strategic agreement with Germany-based IT group Bechtle. The two partners will bring their respective expertise to the collaboration with the aim to support each other in expanding business activity. Under the agreement, they will share the ambition to provide private and public sector institutions across Europe with sovereign cloud services and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

A founding member of Gaia-X, OVHcloud has earned cloud certifications in a number of core markets, including C5 in Germany, SecNumCloud in France and G-Cloud in the UK.

The core business of Tangible Benefit includes hardware procurement, services and software licensing, security, network services, and lifecycle management. Germany IT company Bechtle plan to expand in the field of IT security, doubling the number of employees in its existing team through new hires and its own qualification programme. Bechtle wants to add data protection and information security to its portfolio of services, in addition to cloud, application, data centre, infrastructure, perimeter and cyber security.

OVHcloud expands data storage portfolio with new service for unstructured big data

OVHcloud has announced the launch of High Performance Object Storage, a service developed for clients exploiting unstructured data. The pricing model is based on a monthly subscription of USD 39 per terabyte and a charge of USD 0.015 per outbound gigabyte. The new offering can already be accessed by clients in France. It is currently available in OVHcloud's facilities in Strasbourg and soon in the Gravelines data centre. From May, it will also be rolled out across Canada and the US.

OVHcloud posts revenue growth of nearly 14% in fiscal Q1, confirms FY targets

France-based cloud provider OVHcloud generated revenues of EUR 187.2 million for the fiscal quarter that ended on 30 November, up 13.9 percent year-on-year on a reported basis. Westcon-Comstor to distribute Nokia private networks platform in Germany

Technology distributor Westcon-Comstor has signed a distribution agreement with Nokia to supply its industry-grade private wireless solution, the Nokia Digital Automation Cloud (DAC), in the German market. Nokia Digital Automation Cloud (DAC) provides a secure private wireless network offering a reliable high-bandwidth and low-latency private 4.9G/LTE and 5G, local edge computing capabilities, voice and video services and other applications.

OVHcloud inks renewable electricity agreement with EDF

OVHcloud announced a 15-year power purchase agreement with EDF Renewables, part of energy group EDF, to buy renewable electricity in France. The EDF subsidiary will supply solar energy to OVHcloud's data centres from a 50 MW plant that will be built as part of its power infrastructure in the country, with completion expected in 2024. OVHcloud said that the agreement will support the objective to use renewable sources for 100 percent of the company's electricity needs by 2025.

Bechtle wins EUR 200 mln contract to deliver hardware to Dataport

German IT services provider Bechtle said it has won a contract of EUR 220 million to deliver hardware for workstations at IT service provider Dataport. The contract, called "Delivery of hardware for IT workstation equipment and services", starts from January 2023. Under the deal, Dataport will purchase standardized hardware for its own organization and customers over the next four years, until the end of 2026. The hardware will includes PCs, notebooks, monitors for around 100,000 workstations.
