Paraguay to access Argentina's undersea fibre cables

Landlocked Paraguay has been given preferential access to Argentina's undersea fibre-optic cables in a deal reached during a bilateral meeting held in Asuncion between the country's presidents Horacio Cartes and Mauricio Macri. Under the terms of the interconnection agreement, operators will be allowed to bypass all intermediaries, directly accessing the submarine cable system and resulting in a substantial cost reduction for users, Paraguayan ICT minister David Campos told local daily Ultima Hora.
