'Paris Call' initiative urges world governments and companies to cooperate on cyberspace protection

French President Emmanuel Macron launched the 'Paris Call for Trust and Security in Cyberspace' initiative at the UNESCO Internet Governance Forum (IGF), on 12 November. The members backing this new initiative published a high-level declaration agreeing common principles to preserve an open, secure and peaceful cyberspace. One of its main ambitions is to revive efforts by the United Nations to impose international law on the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) by world governments.
