Peru enables remote activation of telephone services during crisis

Friday 24 April 2020 | 11:00 CET | News
Peruvian telecommunications regulator Osiptel has announced that users can activate, cancel and change essential telecommunications services on a remote basis during the country's coronavirus lockdown. Under the terms of the temporary measure, SIM cards, smartcards and other necessary equipment to activate the service can be delivered by post and activated by users themselves, with technical support over the phone if required, with a view to preventing the displacement of technicians to customer homes.
