Philips sues Garmin, Fitbit over patent infringement in wearables

Philips has launched suits against Garmin and Fitbit in the US alleging their devices infringe the Dutch company's technology, reports newspaper de Telegraaf. The suits filed in California and Massachusetts allege infringement of two patents used in wearables such as smartwatches and activity trackers, for which Philips claims the companies should pay licensing fees.
