PingPing, Coca Cola launch NFC payment system

PingPing and Coca Cola Enterprises have signed a contactless payment system (NFC) partnership in Belgium and Luxembourg, following a successful pilot programme. From the end of this year, 500 machines will be equipped with an NFC reader compatible with the PingPing system. Belgium is the first European country to get such a contactless payment system, the companies claim. Currently, customers need a separate chip on the cell phone or a separate PingPing card to make a payment, but from next year, many mobile phone providers such as Nokia, Apple and the Android OS, are expected to include the
