Police union urges govt to give 700 MHz to security services

German police trade unions ask for the planned auctions of 700 MHz frequencies to stop in the wake of the attacks in Paris. In a letter to chancellery minister Peter Altmaier cited in the tabloid Bild, Rainer Wendt, chairman of the German Union of the Police Forces (DPoIG), highlights the necessity for police and army to communicate "at the most comprehensive, fast and broad possible way", "especially for dreadful events such as the Islamists' attack in Paris."
