Polish control office objects to data retention legislation

According to a report by the Polish Supreme Control Office, current rules governing the acquisition of telecommunications data by authorised entities do not sufficiently protect the rights and freedoms of citizens against undue interference from the state, writes Media2.pl. The main objection the Supreme Control Office raised with the Constitutional Court was that there is no overall control entity governing the activity of authorities when they obtain users' billing data from telecommunications operators.
