Polish parliament divided on changes to UKE chair, European Commission questions govt plan

The lower chamber of the Polish parliament approved amendments to the special anti-crisis law on 14 May. MPs voted in line with recommendations of the parliamentary finance commission and the government's draft amendment on regulations covering the appointment and term in office of the head of the national telecommunications regulator UKE, reports Telko.in. They did not agree with an earlier Senate vote to remove the changes on appointing the UKE head and shortening the current term of office.
