Polycom shareholders approve takeover

Polycom announced that a special meeting of its stockholders has approved the company's takeover by Siris Capital Group. The transaction is expected to be completed in September/October, subject to the receipt of certain regulatory approvals and the satisfaction of other customary closing conditions. Polycom accepted in July a USD 2 billion takeover bid from the private equity firm, which beat a previous offer agreed with rival Mitel.
