Portugal Telecom CEO moves to Oi
Portugal Telecom announced that non-executive chairman Henrique Granadiero will take over as CEO from Zeinal Bava, who has been named CEO of Brazilian operator Oi, in which the Portuguese group is a major shareholder. Granadiero will occupy the same role hitherto occupied by Bava. 

In addition to serving as CEO of the Brazilian operator, Bava will focus on strategic projects and innovation in joint Oi/Portugal Telecom projects. Bava replaces Jose da Cunha as CEO. Da Cunha will resume his role as chairman of Oi, after serving as interim CEO since January. 

PT also announced that Luis Pacheco de Melo, a member of the executive committee of PT and group CFO, will be elected vice president of PT Portugal.

Portugal Telecom announced a sharp reduction in its proposed annual dividend for 2013 and 2014 to EUR 0.10 per share. The company already halved its dividend last year, to EUR 0.325 per share. Oi could use Portugal Telecom's infrastructure

Brazilian telecommunications operator Oi could use the infrastructure of its partner Portugal Telecom, reports Valor Economico. According to the Brazilian daily, new Oi president Zeinal Bava has prepared a plan for synergies, with 70 short-term measures including sharing capacity in Portugal Telecom's data centre in Covilha for the cloud computing market in Brazi). Brazilian operator Oi has announced the departure of its CFO and investor relations officer Alex Zornig, and its COO James Meaney. Brazilian court penalises Oi for misleading advertising

Brazilian telecommunications operator Oi has been penalised by the fourteenth Federal Court of Rio de Janeiro for misleading advertising for its 'DDD Friend' plan. Oi announces BRL 3.14 billion network investment

Brazilian telecommunications operator Oi intends to invest a total of BRL 3.14 billion between 2013 and 2016 to expand and upgrade their data communications network, fixed network, network infrastructure and mobile network. Oi chairman to take over as CEO

The board of Brazil's Telemar Participacoes, the holding company of operator Oi, named Jose Mauro Mettrau Carneiro da Cunha the new CEO of Oi and its controlled companies, replacing Francisco Tosta Valim Filho.
