Precision OT lands Stratus Networks fibre transport deal
Precision Optical Technologies, newly acquired by Belden, announced a contract to provide its OpenPath platform to Stratus Networks, an Illinois-based wholesale and private fibre network operator. Under the deal, Stratus will deploy Precision OT's product to expand its all-fibre network in Central Illinois with a view to meeting current and future customer needs.

Ekinops reports Q3 sales up for first quarter this year thanks to buoyant access demand

French equipment vendor Ekinops has reported revenues totalling EUR 30.4 million for the third quarter, up 9 percent from EUR 27.8 million one year ago. Robust demand for Ekinops' access equipment helped the business record year-on-year sales growth for the first time this year, following slumps in Q1 and Q2, when sales fell by 11 percent and 25 percent respectively. Moreover, Ekinops performed better in constant currency terms, with Q3 sales rising 10 percent from last year.

Belden said it has completed a USD 290 million transaction to acquire Precision Optical Technologies. The deal was originally announced in Belden's first-quarter financial update on 02 May.

Ekinops supplies 10G EAD to Stratus Networks for backhaul connectivity

Ekinops said that its OneAccess 10G EAD (Ethernet Access Device) has been selected by Stratus Networks, a provider of wholesale and private fibre network services operating in the state of Illinois. Stratus owns a fibre ring that relies on the Ekinops360 dynamic optical transport system. The company has now chosen Ekinops' OneOS6-based EAD (1651 version) to deliver mobile backhaul connectivity for a third-party wireless network operator.
