President Trump launches tech group to 'modernise' US govt

US president Donald Trump has issued an executive order to set up the American Technology Council, a group tasked with coordinating the vision, strategy and direction for the Federal Government's use of information technology and the delivery of services through information technology. The ultimate aim of the council will be to "transform and modernise" the federal bureaucracy by bringing leading government officials together with top technology executives. Leading the new council will be Chris Liddell, a former Microsoft executive already working with the White House.
