Primacom bids for Tele Columbus Berlin, DTK - director
Germany's fourth largest cable network operator Primacom wants to play an active role in consolidating the market, according to Primacom's managing director Wolf Waschkuhn talking to Reuters. He said that Primacom is a hunter not hunted and has made an offer for the Berlin assets of Germany's third cable operator Tele Columbus and for the whole of Deutsche Telekabel. Tele Columbus is up for sale and recently attracted interest from private equity groups CVC and Cinven, which are offering to buy it in a potential deal valuing the company's equity and debt at roughly EUR 600 million, two people familiar with the negotiations said. This followed an blocked attempt by Germany's largest cable operator Kabel Deutschland to acquire Tele Columbus earlier this year.
