German TV group Pro Sieben Sat.1 is ready to formally lodge a complaint against Amazon with the Federal Cartel Office, reports 'Handelsblatt' newspaper. Pro Sieben operates the Maxdome VoD platform and believes that Amazon is breaching the law by 'illegally' forcing customers to take out Prime membership to use the Amazon Video service. Industry sources indicate that it is only a 'matter of time' before it takes action. Amazon has recently launched a new standalone Video subscription in the US for USD 8.99 per month.
