Proximus, Base start prepaid registration campaigns

Belgian mobile operators have started sending customers SMS to inform them of the new requirement to register their personal details with their SIM. The anti-terrorism legislation provides six months for all existing prepaid users to be registered or see their SIMs deactivated. Base said it started in September already registering new prepaid users in shops, including for its brands JIM mobile, Turk Telekom mobile, Allo RTL and Ortel Mobile. Customers purchasing a SIM online are directed to a registration website. Base said it also developed a web application for third-party sellers, such as
