Proximus implements 5G-ready network in Luxembourg, expects first 5G services within 12 months

Monday 20 May 2019 | 12:38 CET | News
Tango and Telindus, the two brands of Proximus Luxembourg, announced that preparations towards 5G reached a new milestone. The company's 5G core network is now operational, with the start of deployment in densely populated areas expected within the next twelve months. This follows the successful completion of technical tests last month, conducted in real-life conditions at the operator's research facility in Bertrange. The trial used 3.6 GHz spectrum and was carried out in compliance with 3GPP's Release 15 specifications for 5G, released in December 2018.
