Proximus Q1 sales fall 3% on lower BICS revenues

Belgian operator Proximus recorded a 3.1 percent fall in first-quarter revenue to EUR 1.43 billion. Its wholesale international division BICS led the decline, with sales down 11 percent to EUR 356 million, while sales were nearly stable at the Belgian Luxembourg activities, down 0.3 percent to EUR 1.08 billion. Following a 10 percent fall in direct costs, EBITDA increased 2.5 percent to EUR 418 million, helping the margin rise 1.6 percent points year-on-year to 29.2 percent. Due to one-time costs and higher depreciation and amortisation, net profit fell to EUR 112 million. Proximus maintained
